No-exam life insurance
What accelerated underwriting means, who can use it, how the process works, and what to expect if you do not qualify.
Several carriers have launched accelerated underwriting programs: for applicants meeting specific age and coverage caps, they use your application, pharmacy records, driving history and other information to decide—no paramedical exam. Approvals sometimes arrive within hours. Every quote here notes whether the carrier requires an exam, might need one, or skips it.
What it changes
No exam does not equal no underwriting. Your answers get verified, and misstatements on a policy can be challenged within the first two years. If the carrier's background research turns up anything concerning, they may still request an exam or labs later; you'll know this upfront and can choose to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, people under about 60 seeking amounts within the carrier's expedited threshold, with a clean health record and no tobacco use for a year or longer, qualify. If you have recent medical records with lab work, many carriers will use them instead of ordering a new exam.
When an exam is required, it typically means a 20 to 30-minute session with a paramedical technician who visits your Garden Grove home or workplace, at no cost to you. For many healthy applicants, exam results yield a better rate class, so the exam can actually work in your favor.
